The Power of Pluto: When Transformation Comes Whether You're Ready or Not

Writer: Breann Breann

What happens when Pluto shows up at your mental doors? When it forces you to sit with uncomfortable truths, rewrite your narrative, and dismantle everything you thought was solid? Since November 2023, I’ve been living in that energy, and let me tell you, Pluto doesn’t knock politely. It kicks the damn door down.

When you're in the thick of a Pluto transit, it’s impossible to neatly compartmentalize the lessons being hurled at you. Pluto doesn’t give you the luxury of processing one thing at a time. It shatters illusions, drags buried truths to the surface, and leaves you gasping for clarity in a storm of transformation.

Pluto is the slowest-moving planet, stationed at the edge of our solar system, farthest from the Sun. But that distance isn’t just astronomical, it’s symbolic. Pluto governs what is hidden, suppressed, and unspoken. It rules over the things we fear acknowledging, the truths we deny, and the power struggles we don’t realize we’re trapped in. And Pluto transits don’t just break you open, they break open everyone connected to you.

Growth disrupts.

When you start shedding old versions of yourself, it affects the people who have known, loved, and relied on that version. Some will celebrate your transformation. Others will resist it. Because when you change, it forces them to confront their own discomfort. Not everyone will understand. Not everyone will stay. And that’s one of the hardest parts, watching the fallout, feeling the weight of the pain you’ve caused just by choosing yourself. Pluto demands radical transformation, but it doesn’t come without grief. It asks you to sit with the loss, the guilt, and the second-guessing.

If you’re navigating a Pluto transit, watch the degrees. That’s where you can pinpoint the moments of greatest impact, the times when Pluto tightens its grip and refuses to let you look away. Because Pluto doesn’t just arrive and change your life overnight. It grinds. It unearths. It dismantles over years.

Pluto has one goal: Radical Transformation.

It does not care about your comfort. It does not care about your resistance. It demands that you step outside of denial, break free from illusions, and strip away anything that isn’t aligned with your truth. But what makes Pluto transits so brutal is that we fight them. We cling to old beliefs, old narratives, old versions of ourselves because they feel safe, familiar. But Pluto isn’t interested in keeping you safe. It’s interested in making you real. And that means stripping away every mask, every conditioned belief, and every false sense of control. Just when you think you’ve dug deep enough, Pluto reminds you that you’ve only scratched the surface.

November 2023 marked the beginning of a major Pluto transit for me. Transit Pluto has been squaring my Mercury in Leo, and it has been nothing short of a complete rewiring of my mind.

What is a square in astrology? A 90° aspect that brings tension, friction, and challenge. It forces action. You cannot ignore it. You must evolve or be broken by it.

What does Mercury in Leo represent? Mercury governs communication, thoughts, perception, and how we process reality. In Leo, Mercury is expressive, bold, creative, and unwavering in its self-expression.

And then Pluto entered the ring.

Suddenly, the way I think, speak, and interpret the world around me was under siege. Every conversation, every inner dialogue, every subconscious script I had been running on for years, Pluto forced me to dismantle them all.

I’ve had to unlearn toxic patterns and face deep truths I spent years avoiding.

My words have changed. My conversations have changed. Some people couldn’t handle the new me. Others were meant to leave. I’ve realized that silence can be more powerful than words, but when I do speak, it comes from a place of raw, undeniable truth.

This transit has touched everything.

  • My work. The way I show up, what I create, what I refuse to tolerate.

  • My dreams. The visions I once had for myself have been gutted and replaced with something more authentic.

  • My relationships. Some have deepened. Others have ended.

  • My self-image. The person I was before this transit? She’s gone. And the version of me that’s emerging? She’s still being built.

The reason this is important is simple:

Life isn’t easy.

Transformation isn’t easy. And Pluto? Pluto doesn’t come into your life to make things comfortable, it comes to make them REAL. You will be tested. You will be broken open. But in the end? You will emerge victorious. You will rise, stronger and more authentic than ever before. Don’t be afraid to lean into change. Examine your belief systems. Ask yourself if they still align with the person you are You are the most permanent thing in your life don’t be afraid to embrace the real you!

As always….. Take what illuminates and leave the rest!💫
